OPPO A55 5G is the latest A-series phone to launch in China including a 6.5-inch HD+ display. Oppo’s latest A55 is here and at this point, it’s 5G compatible. This year, the corporation has worked on the A55 5G bringing a faster, more performance-oriented chipset, a much bigger battery, and new camera features. Also, the OPPO A55 5G features the much-awaited MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip.
Design and Display
We received the Brisk Blue version which looked fairly excellent. The frame may be a polycarbonate piece and is glossy while the rear panel is matte. Actually, it’s more of the textured panel and therefore the better part about it’s that it’s not a fingerprint magnet. The highest side of the frame sports ‘Designed for Oppo’ letters while the rock bottom side of the frame sports a dual-SIM tray, a USB Type-C port, and one speaker. the proper and left sides of the frame get the facility button and volume rocker keys. As we said above, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. The display may be a Panda scratch-resistant glass but Oppo provides an easy screen protector straight out of the box. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel.
The OPPO A55 5G gets a replacement camera feature which is named the ‘AI Highlight Video’ which pumps in brightness within the footage in low light conditions. It also applies an HDR effect – counting on the quantity of sunshine available. It also gets a picture-in-picture mode. It gets an identical host of features available earlier – Ultra Steady Video, Pro mode, AI Colour Portrait, and such.
The latest ColorOS version brings a number of the latest features we tested earlier on the beta Android 11 version of the ColorOS. This includes heavy customization like changing the AOD watch faces, three intensities of the dark mode, and a replacement Game Space menu which may be summoned by swiping from the left while playing games.
The OPPO A55 5G gets a 5000mAh battery which lasted for a full day on minor to moderate usage with no heavy tasks like gaming included. With gaming included, and moderate to heavy use of calls, social media, browser use – we were ready to strong-arm 19 hours on a full charge.
The OPPO A55 5G gets an honest design – albeit it’s repetitive – but still the curved lines along the sides and therefore the curved display too – gives it a very standing out preference in terms of all the phones we’ve tested within the same hardware region
The overall performance is okay as long as you’re swiping through apps, using your social media to the fullest, using the cameras, and such. App switching was smooth and that we didn’t find any issues with the performance of the OPPO A55 5G on a daily usage basis. So we are saying that overall performance is quite good.
By the way, Gaming performance may be a toughie on the OPPO A55 5G.We tried a few games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Real Racing 3, and PUBG Mobile. Almost every game worked pretty much as long because it was offline. The battle royale stages of PUBG Mobile demanded far more than the Density 1000+ chip could take – and that we had to use it on Balanced graphics settings.
